Corteiz Hoodie Review My Honest Take After Actually Wearing One

Corteiz Hoodie Review My Honest Take After Actually Wearing One

Before I’ve had any of their products, I was skeptical of Corteiz, but this one is pretty awesome. I thought this brand was all about the marketing buzz in general but the Corteiz Hoodie got me thinking otherwise. The hoodie is where Corteiz whole streetwear ethos and reputation of limited drops and ‘if you know, you know’ comes into play. I got my first Corteiz Hoodie on a restock last year, for the most part just out of curiosity, and have worn it enough since then to have a word of advice to offer. This is no hype talk. That’s after the hype had subsided and I just had to deal with it.

First Impressions Out of the Bag

The first thing I noticed about my Corteiz Hoodie is that it is really heavy. This is a proper heavy weight fleece, and not fleece that you get from the brands that are in it for the short term. The fabric seems to be an interesting consideration; Corteiz Hoodie is definitely not flimsy after multiple washings. The stitching around the hood and cuffs was excellent and was securely fastened on the first day. If you thought that because of the rapid sell-outs of these drops, they must be cheap, you’ll have to think again when you put on the Corteiz Hoodie.

The Fit Says a Lot About the Brand

Corteiz embraces a large boxy style and this hoodie is no exception to that rule. I have measured true and my own and it is still hanging loose, as it likes to do, the brand. The shoulder drop on my Corteiz Hoodie is slightly lowered than my actual shoulder height to give it a relaxed streetwear vibe without me looking like I’ve got a ton of fabric on my shoulders. The sleeves go down to the wrist length which a lot of Corteiz fans prefer. They get bunch if you want to get that look. The shape is still intact after the winter season, and the Corteiz Hoodie remains in the same position as it did on the first day.

How I Style Mine Day to Day

I impresse the most by how many different uses a Corteiz Hoodie can be put to once you get it. I’ve paired them with plain cargos for an everyday look, and when it gets cold, I’ve tossed them under a denim jacket. The Alcatraz branding is so strong, that the rest of the ensemble becomes secondary and Corteiz Hoodie does the job for you. Grey and beige could be just as easily done as it is done in black, I’ve seen a few people do it online. From a basic, clean silhouette to a more layered look, the Corteiz Hoodie seamlessly adjusts to suit your style.

Why Corteiz Has This Kind of Following

Corteiz didn’t arrive using traditional marketing, and which is the reason behind the feeling you get while owning a Cortiez Hoodie. Clint 419 started the brand in 2017 and it expanded on word of mouth, guerrilla drops and really rapping the street culture without any advertising. That history is important when you are wearing it, after all, it is not just another logo hoodie. As for talking to other owners, this sentiment keeps coming up, and people don’t buy a Cortiez Hoodie to flex, they buy it because the brand’s story and product’s quality both do. It’s a unique mix that’s why Corteiz resales are so long-lasting.

Keeping Your Corteiz Hoodie Looking Right

Maintenance of a heavy object like this is not difficult but some habits make a world of difference. I prefer to wash Corteiz Hoodie inside out on cold water to prevent cracking over time of the Alcatraz print. If possible, do not use the dryer as it tends to shrink the fleece and reduce the life of the cuffs. I’ve also eliminated the use of fabric softeners, as they can dull the texture of the fabric, making it feel less like a Cortiez Hoodie. It is better to fold it than hang it to avoid the shoulders getting out of shape. The little things have helped mine look new again after an entire season of regular use.

Final Thoughts on the Corteiz Hoodie

I understand how people queue up when stocking up in that place after a full winter of living in it. While the Corteiz Hoodie may not be cheap and it certainly won’t be easy to find, the fabric, fit and brand’s narrative make it worth the hype once you have it. Personally, I’ve found Corteiz to be worth the hype, but if you are still not sure if it is worth it, then give it a shot. Overall, the Cortiez Hoodie has become a staple in my wardrobe and I can only hope it remains there for a long time.
